According to the news in the French press, the Court of Nanterre tried 5 people yesterday on charges of selling 11 thousand fake Covid-19 health licenses for 250-330 euros each, via the social media application Snapchat.

The court sentenced 2 of the detained defendants to 4 years in prison with a one-year suspended sentence and a fine of 25 thousand euros each.

One of the other two defendants was sentenced to 18 months, 12 of which was suspended, and the other to 15 months, with a suspended sentence.

One defendant was released.

Two of the defendants, who are stated to have extracted the documents through the health system they hacked with the information of the people whose names and insurance numbers were obtained, have criminal records for various cyber crimes and fraud by forming an organized gang.

FranceThe health license, approved by the Constitutional Council in August 2021 and put into effect on August 9, was used as a mandatory document proving that people who want to enter indoor places, restaurants, cafeterias, movie theaters, museums and amusement parks are Covid-19 negative or vaccinated.

The government later abolished the Covid-19 health license application and put into effect the vaccine license application, which covers only those who are vaccinated.
